Resident Manager

Burbank Housing is currently seeking an experienced individual to manage and oversee a 24-Unit Tax Credit family community located in the City of Rohnert Park, California. Partnering with the Committee on the Shelterless (COTS), this property is dedicated to special needs and formerly homeless individuals and families. COTS maintains an office on the property and is active in the community. The manager will provide on-site management of the community, maintain an office and oversee all operations of the property.This is a half-time (20 hours per week) position incorporating the on-site management of the Vida Nueva community.The position requires on-site residency, and the resident manager is provided rent-free occupancy of a two-bedroom apartment in the Vida Nueva Community. A minimum of 3 years experience in residential property management is required.The wage ranges from $16.00 to $18.00 per hour depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate.The successful candidate will have experience in the administration of tax credit, HUD, CalHFA, RHCP, USDA, HOME and other funding agencies and vehicles supporting affordable housing.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have commitment and enthusiasm for our mission to provide decent housing for a diverse group of low- and middle-income individuals. Some units are set asides for special needs tenants. Prior experience in on-site property management is required. The successful candidate will be experienced in property management software such as Yardi Voyager, or be able to quickly develop proficiency. Computer experience with other business software such as Outlook, Word & Excel is necessary. Routine business skills are required: ability to write business correspondence and effectively present information, ability to address groups and individuals, good business math skills, and the ability to understand and interpret government regulations and follow established procedures. Employees are required to maintain reliable transportation insured as required by the state of California and must maintain a current California Driver's License in good standing. Insurance and License will be verified. A routine pre-employment physical is required post-offer.

Education

This position requires a minimum of 3 years' experience managing an apartment complex; subsidized or affordable housing experience is most valuable. College level course work in property management or real estate is preferred. The successful candidate should have familiarity with regulations and reporting to agencies subsidizing affordable housing, specifically TCAC and UDSA, and/or demonstrated experience with other time-sensitive and detailed-oriented reporting.
