JOB SUMMARY
The Application Consultant plays a vital role in the Application Team, serving as the primary point of contact for all applicants. This role is responsible for managing the full application process, including reviewing and validating applicant information, conducting credit screenings, and ensuring a seamless experience for both applicants and residents. With a strong focus on customer service and compliance, the Application Consultant works closely with internal teams to support a smooth move-in process. This position reports to the Application Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manage the full-cycle application process, including review, approval/denial, and identity/income verification (if applicable).
  • Verify government-issued photo IDs to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Communicate application status updates to applicants in a timely and professional manner.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to applicants, residents, and internal partners, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance customer satisfaction, including Net Promoter Score (NPS) and survey ratings related to the application and move-in process.
  • Maintain expertise in Funnel lead management and company application standards.
  • Handle confidential applicant and company information with discretion.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws, including Fair Housing, Landlord-Tenant regulations, OSHA, and EEOC guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, as required.
  • Willingness to work additional hours as necessary to complete tasks and attend training sessions.
  • Adaptability to changes in work schedules and locations.
  • Compliance with company time management policies, including meal and rest periods.

WHAT THE JOB REQUIRES

  • 2-3+ years of administrative experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service mindset with a friendly, energetic personality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM systems.
  • Ability to compose, edit, and review written materials with attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with managers, residents, and colleagues.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.

The salary range for this position is $23.08 - $32.69 per hour. New hires generally start between $23.08 - $28.37 per hour. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience; internal equity; and other business and organizational needs.

This role is also eligible to participate in Essex’s discretionary Annual Bonus program that is commensurate with the level of the position.
