Essex is offering an exciting opportunity for you to be an integral part of our Corporate Internship program. With opportunities in Asset Management, Marketing, Sustainability and Human Resources you will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience working on meaningful projects that impact real world business problems. This is a 10-12 week training and development program provided to assist interns in increasing learning opportunities in multi-family housing and real estate. You will gain the ability to understand the roles and best practices of the several departments within Essex, as well as build a better understanding of our industry through exposure of practical and daily business responsibilities and duties.

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE 

We are proud to offer a 10-12week, paid internship opportunity to highly motivated Business, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or other quantitative focus students within an industry leading real estate companyYou will work closely with multiple departments within the Essex organization and develop an understanding of the day-to-day aspects of our businessThis is a great opportunity to be exposed to multi-housing and see how Revenue Management functions within a large S&P 500 company.  

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

You will have the opportunity to be involved in both large- and small-scale projects that are common to a Revenue Management department at a publicly traded company. Overall, your duties will include: 

  • Data analytics projects to identify revenue maximizing opportunities.  
  • Using Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Power Point, and internal systems to gather data to provide insights and analysis to reporting manager.  
  • Leading and supporting any other relevant projects that arise during the summer. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 Eligible candidates are enrolled in a four-year accredited undergraduate program where they are at least a rising junior and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.  

  • Open to juniors graduating class of 2025, and seniors class of 2024. 
  • Must have strong communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills. 
  • Must be results oriented with exceptional communication and analytical skills.  
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Experience in data analysis required. 
  • Proficiency in MS office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.  
  • Basic knowledge of VBA, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Access, SQL is preferred but not required 
  • Working knowledge of revenue management, real estate, and market trends a plus. 
  • Hybrid work model - in office 3 days a week, M-W

 

MAJORS PREFERRED 

  • Business, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or other quantitative focus.

The salary range for this position is $20.00 - $26.44 per hour. New hires generally start between $20.00 - $22.60 per hour. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience; internal equity; and other business and organizational needs.
