Benefits Analyst

About the HR Team

The HR & Benefits group at ConAm has a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture.  Our mission is to build an HR organization that delivers the tools, services and support our internal clients need to do the best work of their careers!

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Benefit Analyst to join us in that mission.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Benefits Administration:

  • Monitor benefit eligibility for all new hires, reinstatements, re-hires, property take-overs and various status changes, ensuring adherence to ConAm plan rules
  • Prepare and submit weekly demographic files to vendors, review and research error reports
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and vendors, partner with vendors to resolve claim, billing, and enrollment issues
  • Run regular reports and audit data
  • Monitor ACA eligibility and resolve any discrepancies with the ACA vendor
  • Support the annual Open Enrollment process, ensure all changes are transmitted correctly to carriers, resolve any enrollment discrepancies
  • Process child support orders

Monthly Carrier Billing:

  • Pay and reconcile monthly invoices for 5 different carriers
  • Collaborate with the benefits accountant to research and resolve any billing or payroll discrepancies and process applicable adjustments

401(k) Administration:

  • Process and monitor any 401(k) contribution and loan changes
  • Prepare semi-monthly wires to Prudential based on payroll records
  • Monitor and research loans risking default
  • Update floor codes in HR system to appropriately reflect associates’ benefit class
  • Prepare and upload Flex deduction register
  • Participate in 401(k) audit
  • Participate in 401(k) match calculations and processing

Workers Compensation:

  • Report work incident reports in Origami as necessary
  • Maintain and process workers’ comp claims
  • Actively communicate with workers’ comp carrier for work status reports
  • Provide lost-time detail and wage statements for workers’ comp insurance carrier
  • Support the implementation of new systems, providing raw data necessary for system development and auditing throughout the implementation process
  • Communicate and ensure compliance with various laws and regulations (ACA, FMLA, PDL, CFRA, HIPAA)

Miscellaneous:

  • Prepare and process regular and ad-hoc benefits and HR-related reports
  • Support the implementation of new systems, providing raw data necessary for system development and auditing throughout the implementation process
  • Communicate and ensure compliance with various laws and regulations (ACA, FMLA, PDL, CFRA, HIPAA)

Basic Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in compensation and/or benefits
  • Experience in the residential property management or hospitality industry a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various other MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of federal and state wage and salary laws and regulations.

Demonstrated Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong attention to detail and a strategic mindset
  • Experience with job analysis and job evaluation principles, methods, and procedures
  • Knowledge of compensation administration principles and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with HCM systems and web-based compensation bench-marking tools
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports
  • Skill in analyzing and evaluating job content and writing accurate job descriptions
