Instructional Designer

We are seeking to fill a full-time Instructional Designer position to work in our Training Department at our Bloomfield Hills, Ml corporate headquarters.

The Instructional Designer will develop, deliver, assess and revise multimedia training courses. The right candidate will be responsible for basic administration of Edward Rose & Sons University training database. This position supports the Director of Training and Development in the implementation and management of the university curriculum.

The successful candidate's primary responsibilities will be:

  • Design instructor led training preparation materials for comprehensive courses including agendas, objectives, scripts and assessments.
  • Use a broad range of multimedia to develop courses that are compatible with a variety of devices.
  • Integrate voice-over, graphics, photography and video into e-learning modules.
  • Collaborate with trainers, administrators and subject matter experts to develop engaging training modules.
  • Facilitate train the trainer sessions for managers and provide them with the tools they need in order to be successful.
  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultations with managers or instructors.
  • Work cohesively with the marketing department to maintain consistency of branding all learning platforms.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Training and Development.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, technology or a relevant field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a training role is preferred.
  • Previous experience in designing successful training programs, preferably in an e-learning management system environment.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, videos, etc.).
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Proven initiative, positive attitude, and self-motivated.
  • Must be able to adapt presentations to meet the needs of the audience.
  • Exceptional computer software and database skills; knowledge of Scorm preferred.
  • Experience with Yardi eLearning experience is preferred.
  • Ability to travel to remote locations and work overtime as needed; reliable transportation.

Employees are required to be honest and trustworthy with a satisfactory background. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation will be required as this position will entail the operation of a personal and potentially a company vehicle.
