Residential Financial Supervisor

Scottsdale, AZ

Under the direction of the Residential Financial Director, the Residential Financial Supervisor assists the Director in all supervisory tasks for three to four teams of Residential Financial Specialists and serves as the team’s primary resource for assistance in performing the job requirements. He/She will monitor daily departmental operations to meet service level and productivity goals and identify areas for potential improvement. The Residential Financial Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the accurate bookkeeping/posting of all resident transactions for the properties/portfolio in accordance with set policies and practices; thereby, ensuring income optimization. This position partners with on-site and regional property management and is charged with the responsibility to maximize all income opportunities by analyzing trends and recommending process improvements. This position requires sound knowledge of state laws relating to collections from residents as well as internal policies and practices relating to property bookkeeping and systems. This position spends approximately 40% of his/her time performing management functions for the Specialists, 30% preparing and analyzing performance reports and 30% performing Specialist responsibilities for his/her assigned portfolio. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Management Duties

 ? Assists the Director with duties normally associated with a supervisory position, such as hiring, training, performance and development assessment and disciplinary counseling of his/her assigned Residential Financial Specialist team. 

? Recommends hiring and termination decisions to Director, RFS regarding assigned Specialists. 

? Prepares weekly schedules for assigned RFS team, reviews and approves timesheets. 

? Oversees local field office operations and communicates necessary changes or requirements 

? Monitors team’s performance against objectives. Evaluates team processes, policies and procedures, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards. Identifies and resolves issues.

 ? Provides recommendations to VP, Financial Services to adjust workforce when needed

 ? Provides leadership to Specialists on analysis and recommendations to their regional Property Management teams. 

? Performs Specialist responsibilities, when necessary, to cover for vacations and absences of Specialists. 

? Assesses compliance performance of properties and identifies areas of improvement for RMs/ VPPMs . 

? Ensures that established company accounting programs, policies and procedures under RFS responsibility are adhered to in assigned portfolios. 

? Communicates metric performance and makes recommendations to promote desired compliance and highlight opportunities for both on-site and RFS teams. 

? Monitors on-site financial policies and procedures for any necessary adjustments needed to achieve consistency, efficiencies and controls. Makes recommendations to VPPMs and Directors, RFS for improvement. 

? Performs Residential Financial Specialist responsibilities for assigned portfolio.

 ? Serves as the primary liaison with RM/VPPM teams and other internal departments. 

? Assists with special projects as requested. 

? Represents the Company in a professional manner at all times. Consistently maintains a professional courteous attitude when dealing with residents, coworkers and the general public. 


JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

Knowledge/Experience:

 A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A college degree or some college coursework is preferred. Four or more years of professional work experience in a Bookkeeping or Accounting related position is required. Multifamily experience is preferred. Minimum of two years in a direct supervisory role of multiple employees is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate ability to work unsupervised. Must have significant knowledge of management and basic accounting principles. Must have strong analytical skills. Must demonstrate ability to evaluate team productivity, performance and structure and be able to identify needs for process and technology improvements. Must have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; must be a confident and effective communicator at all levels of the organization. Minimal travel is required. Machines, Tools and Equipment, Software: Strong computer proficiency in Google, Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and MRI.
