Waterton is currently seeking a Porter. In this role you'll maintain the grounds and common areas of the property to ensure a clean, debris-free, safe, positive "curb appeal." Within limits, assist the service team in the preparation of apartments (make-readies) and completion of service requests.

Job Description:
  • Walk assigned area daily to remove trash, snow and ice (when and where applicable), debris, abandoned property, etc.; sweep out compactor/recycle/dumpster areas; empty trash cans; maintain mailbox areas, sidewalks, gutters, fencing, common lighting, pools, parking lots, breezeways and all common areas in a neat, safe and clean manner.
  • Identify and report service requests, as needed, on apartments and common areas.
  • Maintain and operate various types of equipment in performing the job functions of a Groundskeeper/Porter.
  • Establish and maintain good relations with residents, prospective residents, all customers, vendors and co-workers. Communicate in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
  • Identify and repair exterior structural and safety items including replacing exterior light bulbs, touching-up exterior paint, making minor repairs to railings, stairs, balconies, landings, fences, etc.
  • Adhere to all local, state and federal laws including all laws governing Fair Housing and safety procedures including OSHA requirements.

Job Requirements:
  • Requires being detailed oriented.
  • Must be willing and able to work out of doors for long periods of time in various types of weather.
  • Ability to maintain and operate certain types of equipment such as leaf blower, pressure washer, carpet/floor cleaning machines, certain hand tools, ladder, safety equipment, etc.
  • Knowledge of proper safety precautions.
  • Excellent customer service skills while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
  • May be required to possess a valid driver's license to drive a company vehicle.
