Job Description
This is a senior level role that is responsible for effective claims administration, to include reporting, monitoring, trending, and the analysis of Workers’ Compensation, Auto, General Liability, and Property Damage insurance claims.

Effective claims administration, to include reporting, monitoring, trending, and the analysis of Workers’ Compensation, Auto, General Liability, and Property Damage insurance claims.

Collect, evaluate, and maintain claims data in the department tracking system concerning injuries, claims, workers’ compensation, and other risk-related data and provide reports on quarterly basis, or as requested.

Provide guidance and advice to other team members in handling various claim situations. Work closely with claim coordinator to efficiently manage claim load.

Respond to requests regarding Fair Housing issues and provide expertise in developing new policies and training material.

Assist with research related to safety compliance and regulatory issues and developing policies as needed related to same.

Administer the Worker’s Compensation return to work program including preparation and coordination process of light duty job offers.

Evaluate claims data to identify needed loss control interventions and assist with the development of appropriate loss prevention programs. Recognize exceptions as they occur and seek help or resolve problems of varying scope and complexity on own initiative.

Manage the administration of claims by monitoring the handler’s plan including but not limited to interviewing parties involved, collecting and evaluating documentation and securing evidence and protecting chain of custody; to analyze coverage, determine liability, compensability, and damages of claims.

Work with insurance adjuster to assess actual damages associated with a claim. Hold insurance adjusters accountable to investigate, negotiate, and settle claims within personal settlement authority. Render prompt claim service and establish the best possible relationship with all persons involved.

Manage insurance litigation process including assigning attorney, filing and coordination of settlement negotiations, discovery and interrogatories and final resolutions.

Complete annual OSHA records for all communities.


Education

College degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

Qualifications

Five or more years of risk management related experience required.

Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to prepare and explain data to team members.

Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook.

Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions, and calculate percentages in order to complete financial records, budgets, and other fiscal reporting information.
