Senior Residential Financial Specialist

BASIC PURPOSE:
The Senior Residential Financial Specialist is a seasoned team member with demonstrated success in the critical job functions of an RFS and has proven leadership skills among team members and regional site teams.
Under the direction of the Residential Financial Director, the Sr. Residential Financial Specialist demonstrates expert level knowledge of the policies and procedures within the Central Business Group serves as the Supervisor’s primary resource for daily operations.
The Sr. RFS is responsible for assisting the Director and Supervisors in on-going training on the accurate bookkeeping/posting of all resident transactions for the properties/portfolio in accordance with set policies and practices; thereby, ensuring income optimization. This position serves as the expert internal policies and practices relating to property bookkeeping and systems.
This position spends approximately 10% of his/her time performing guidance/retraining functions for the Specialists, 10% analyzing performance and metrics reports, 80% performing Specialist responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
? Assist with ongoing training for new hires within the department, as well as refreshers to
existing employees.
? Provides general guidance to the RFS team and serves as a subject matter expert and resource for daily RFS inquires.
? Ensures the team adopts all policy & process changes and responds positively and
creatively to changes within the department.
? Assists the Director and Supervisors in monitoring team’s performance against objectives. Evaluates team processes, policies and procedures, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards. Also, helps identify and resolve issues.
? Provides leadership to Specialists on analysis and recommendations to their regional Property Management teams.
? Performs Specialist responsibilities, to cover for vacations and absences of Specialists.
? Assesses compliance performance of properties through audits and identifies areas of improvement for the property and CBG. Assists Supervisors with audit responses and disputes.
? Ensures that established company accounting programs, policies and procedures under RFS responsibility are adhered to in assigned portfolios.
? Assists with special projects as requested.
? Represents the Company in a professional manner at all times. Consistently maintains a professional courteous attitude when dealing with residents, coworkers and the general public.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A college degree or some college coursework is preferred. Four or more years of professional work experience in a Bookkeeping or Accounting related position and at least 1 year as Residential Financial Specialist is required. Multifamily experience is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate ability to work unsupervised. Must have significant knowledge of management and basic accounting principles. Must have strong analytical skills. Must demonstrate leadership qualities with the ability to evaluate team productivity, and provide feedback on team performance. Must have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; must be a confident and effective communicator at all levels of the organization
Machines, Tools and Equipment, Software:
Strong computer proficiency in Google, Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Google, and MRI.

PHYSICAL AND VISUAL ACTIVITIES:
Ability to hear and speak well enough to converse verbally over the phone and in-person (expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken or written word). Ability to interpret, evaluate and communicate detailed written or verbal instructions to others accurately and easily. Able to see well enough to use the computer effectively and read written communications. Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 15 pounds for the dissemination of documents, supplies, materials, etc. to various locations throughout the office/facility. May be required to climb stairs depending on the property structure.
