Marketing Manager, Thought Leadership

Job Description
We’re looking for a creative, curious individual to launch Greystar’s thought leadership platform alongside the Senior Director of Global Public Affairs. At its most basic level, the opportunity is to continually learn about what Greystar is doing across its three core businesses and imagine, design, and build ways to share what you learn with our key/target audiences. All of this is in service of strengthening Greystar’s reputation and brand.

  • Bring a creative mindset that is nimble enough to push the company forward while recognizing the importance of bringing key stakeholders along comfortably
  • Play an important role in fostering relationships with leaders inside the organization to identify opportunities for the team

Specific Responsibilities Include
  • Build high-quality written, graphic, and video content drawing form various internal teams across the company that promotes the Greystar brand
  • Gathering ideas and opportunities and strategically selecting what to elevate based on the company’s goals, messaging, and other key factors
  • Working with the in-house agency to bring ideas from concept to execution, including selection of outside agencies and vendors at times
  • Partnering with the external communications team and the company’s PR agencies to amplify stories and actions around the world
  • Tracking and maintaining a catalog of ideas, concepts, and opportunities, and maintaining a creative calendar
  • Attending meetings/briefings across the company to be up-to-speed on everything Greystar and to build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Developing, measuring, and tracking KPIs related to the effectiveness of the team’s efforts


Education

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing strategies (SEO, social media, email marketing, etc.)
  • Experience creating content, marketing, video and/or podcast production with strong writing and editing skills


Qualifications

  • Background in producing and distributing content across a variety of mediums and channels
  • The ability to separate the relevant from the interesting in pursuit of advancing the Greystar brand
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to collaborate with a variety of individuals and teams
  • Ability to communicate complex topics to sophisticated audience in creative formats
  • Familiarity with communications planning and best practices in content marketing
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, and an ability to advocate for the team’s needs and goals
  • Understanding of digital measurement of brand marketing
  • A track record of getting things done by recognizing barriers and the ways around them
  • A self-starter who is team-oriented, super-organized, and has a good sense of humor
