The Summer Conference Housing Director will provide quality conferences and customer service to internal and external clients who will be housed on campus. The Summer Conference Housing Director is responsible for negotiations, logistics, and contracting of conference clients; billing, budgeting, and database management; and assisting conference clients in coordinating their conference. The Summer Conference Housing Director leads the recruitment, selection and training of student staff as well as the supports the coordination of professional staff.
The Summer Conference Housing Director manages all outreach and communication concerning UK new student orientation and prospective student initiatives. The position provides leadership and direct supervision of Conference Coordinators, Office Assistants, Desk Clerks, and Conference Assistants. The Summer Conference Housing Director works closely with and provides direction and coordination for the senior operations team.
This position is part of the Operations Team and will report directly to the Executive Director of Housing Operations.
Education
A high school diploma or equivalent and professional knowledge of business discipline are required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, with preference given to someone with experience in student housing and summer conference housing
• Familiarity with database systems such as Conference Programmer, IRIS, StarRez, and Lenel.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
• Ability to independently interpret, communicate, and apply policies and procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
