Washington, DC

Working for Equity Residential (EQR), a leading multi-family real estate investment trust (REIT) headquartered in downtown Chicago, means being part of a community and striving to provide the best in apartment living, speaking boldly about new ideas for innovation, and inspiring creativity in the ways we work together. Our portfolio of high-quality properties in growth markets – New York City, Boston, Washington DC, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles, to name a few – provides homes where people most want to live. We've got the best people in the business, and our experience shows in our dedication to residents and in how much we value each other as colleagues. That’s why our employees say they are proud to work at Equity, a company that knows how to Live Remarkably. That’s what our Be.Think.Play.Live. culture is all about.

Under the direction of a Senior Recruiter, the Recruiter is responsible for the overall sourcing, recruitment, and placement of candidates to meet all current and future hiring needs of the assigned portfolio. Our Recruiters are energetic, professional, and dynamic brand ambassadors with a passion for attracting top talent to our organization by delivering a warm and welcoming candidate experience. Both individually and as a team, our Recruiters develop and utilize a variety of recruiting strategies to fill job openings in a timely manner and ensure strategic, creative, cost-effective candidate sourcing. Primary day-to-day responsibilities include — but are not limited to — building and maintaining a candidate pipeline through sourcing and outreach; screening, interviewing, and hiring candidates; developing and maintaining a college/university/trade school recruiting strategy; analyzing compensation trends and making salary recommendations for all new hires and promotions; coaching and training hiring managers on interviewing and hiring decisions; and analyzing results of recruiting strategies and employee retention.
