We are currently searching for a Corporate Accountant to be based at our Arlington, VA Corporate Headquarters.

The Role

Primary Job Functions:

Perform monthly analysis and corporate close activities, including but not limited to:

  • perform a detailed review and analysis of designated corporate overhead department activities;
  • perform a detailed review and analysis of the corporate balance sheet accounts and associated subledger schedules;
  • prepare and post journal entries for the corporate accounting monthly close process, and
  • prepare the company’s monthly operating performance metrics.

Support the corporate and external reporting processes, including providing:

  • prepare summary analysis of designated corporate departments’ operating results, and
  • prepare and/or review of certain key supporting schedules for the Company’s quarterly and annual earnings releases and SEC reporting process

Additional Job Functions:

  • Prepare and maintain process and associated internal control documentation for Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules for the Company’s annual audit and quarterly reviews with the independent accountants
  • Support other ad hoc requests and projects from senior management.

You Have...

Experience & Education

  • BS in Accounting from an accredited university;
  • 2 years practical experience preferred;
  • Public accounting experience preferred;
  • CPA preferred

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Solid accounting background with an understanding of the monthly close and reporting process.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate details of financial information prepared.
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with pivot tables and Excel functions/formulas required.
  • The ability to build relationships and work collaboratively at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail oriented self-starter willing to take ownership to develop and implement process enhancements & business solutions.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently
  • Organizational, prioritization and time management skills are essential.
  • Excellent customer service and leadership skills.
