Apartment Manager

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for all aspects of running and managing the 129 unit complex near Cal State University, Fullerton as well as performing various administrative and maintenance tasks.

The ideal candidate should have three years of on-site apartment management experiences as well as a very good organization skill and a self-starter. Ability to interact effectively with prospects, residents, peers and management and likes to work in a very busy environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

* Must live on-site and have transportation to attend to bank deposit, post office and purchasing maintenance supplies
* Office, admin and bookkeeping skills, including rent collection and vendor control
* Review and approve rental applications
* Prepare move-in and move-out administration
* Prepare and update, as necessary, all lease documents, notices, advertising, etc
* Manage and supervise on-site full and part-time employees including maintenance personnel
* Have some basic maintenance knowledge to assess required maintenance activities
* Manage the on-going maintenance and upkeep of the property
* Ensure vendors that are providing quality service for their costs. Bidding out jobs to ensure the best workmanship and prices for the service required
* Prepare unit inspection
* Responsible for after-hours emergency calls
* Work weekends, when needed
* Attend/represent company in small claims court proceeding as related to tenant issues

Qualifications

High school diploma / 3-5 years on-site apartment management experience in residential property management / Superior customer service skill / Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) / Effective administrative, organizational and time management skills / Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain current auto insurance / Must have a good communication skill in English / Supervisory background is a plus / Must pass criminal and credit background check
