Job Description
This position greets residents and other persons in the dining room while ensuring a neat and welcoming atmosphere.
Greets residents as they enter the dining room and checks ID’s to verify identity of resident and available meals.
Refers residents to the Dining Service office for any messages or issues with using meal card.
Ensures all persons are wearing shirts and shoes to comply with health regulations and notifies manager with any issues.
Assists any residents’ guests with purchasing a meal card.
Turns in any lost and found items to the designated area.
Refers any residents requesting a take-out meal to the manager.
Reads and understands the Dining Services information contained in the Move-In Guide and Resident Handbook.
Provides answers to residents in a polite and professional manner.
Maintains a clean work area; empty trash as needed.
Checks to ensure tables and chairs are straightened and clean, picks up any litter in the area and keeps glass entrance doors polished and clean.
Checks to ensure there are supplies at the beginning of the shift.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent experience.
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to comprehend and complete legal documents, and answer questions about the kitchen’s operation.
Demonstrated proficiency in Internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs in order to complete required reports and employment documents.
Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions, and calculate percent’s in order to complete financial records, budgets, and other fiscal reporting information.
