Computer Lab Administrator

Position is for a part-time (15 hrs/week) Computer Lab Administrator to work at Don De Dios, Elena Gardens and Pollard Plaza,  multi-family affordable housing communities in San Jose, CA. Qualified candidates will have at least 1+ year of computer instruction experience and advanced knowledge ofprimary computer software applications (Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, Basic HTML). Position pays between $16.44/hr to $20.55/hr DOE.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under general supervisor, the Computer Lab Administrator is responsible for operation and provision of services to the assigned Computer Lab(s). Ensures a safe and respectful environment for computer labs through enforcement of corporate security, privacy policies, and standards of conduct for all users. Develops and conducts computer based training/classes to give users opportunities to learn new skills. Works with users through group/individual instruction to help them meet their learning goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts outreach for the assigned community(ies).
  • Works with Technology Program Manager, Resource Coordinator(s) and in some cases with outside funders to develop and implement educational programs for residents and to offer better computer services to the community.
  • Collects and maintains attendance list of users and records their progress via Learner Web
  • Troubleshoots network & equipment when necessary. Works with the IT Department to ensure all systems are up to date and secured.
  • Delivers basic training for applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and other mainstream software applications.
  • Leads digital literacy classes with provided curriculum on technology topics including, but not limited to, tablets, computers, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) Windows, internet, Google apps and other mainstream software applications
  • As applicable:  Sets up and tears down computer equipment before and after each class in a mobile setting
  • Continually develops & maintains skills and familiarity with all applicable hardware & software.
  • Attends training sessions to improve applicable skills.
  • Attends relevant meetings relating to the position.
  • Actively participates in EAH’s Injury and Illness Prevention Plan
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent. One year of computer instruction or computer lab administration experience preferred.
