Job Summary: The Dining Hall Cook is for Pinnacle Campus Living is a highly valued and integral position responsible for high end quality culinary tasks within our team. The Dining Hall Cook is responsible for the proper preparation, set up and execution of a particular station or dish during the meal service provided by the property. This employee prepares the daily menu, prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. The Dining Hall Cook will ensure quality food service is provided at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares high quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared food items.
  • Responsible for records from area worked during service periods.
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat. Ensures food and supply items are stored per standards.
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
  • Ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
  • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the General Manager immediately.
  • Attends any required staff and safety meetings.
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, residents, administrators and managers.
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all KITCHEN EXPECTATION as described by management.
  • A willingness to work other departments and complete other functions as determined by management, with reasonable accommodations.
  • Set up dining hall, station or section in time for service, including but not limited to, service utensils, station décor, filling wells.
  • Services students, as needed, in an efficient and friendly manner, resolves resident concerns.
  • Maintains fresh food throughout the entire service period without creating excess waste or leftover product as best as possible.
  • Maintains constant communication with management as well to ensure proper service is not interrupted on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for cleaning dining hall, all dishes, and kitchen after service, or as necessary, with or without supervision and assistance.
