Staff Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs a wide range of accounting and administrative duties to support the accounting department.
REPORTS TO: Controller
DUTIES/TASKS:
• Process billings and receipts
• Abstract leases and accurately set-up tenant information, leases, and billings in accounting system
• Code vendor invoices and process for payment
• Maintain vendor contact information and contracts
• Maintain electronic filing system
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including adjusting journal entries and supporting schedules
• Prepare monthly financial statements and supplemental reports for a variety of institutional clients
• Perform initial budget to actual analysis on monthly financials
• Develop and document efficient and effective accounting process, procedures and reporting as needed
• Support the property management function as needed, including some administrative tasks
• Assists with related special projects as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent, college degree a plus
• Minimum 3 years' experience as accountant or full-charge bookkeeper. Experience with commercial real estate strongly desired
• Skill in the use of personal computers and associated software -- expert user of Excel and knowledgeable in use of property management software, such as Entrata.
• Communicates effectively and diplomatically with vendors, and visitors.
• Comes to work on-time, ready to perform job duties and responsibilities.
• Has the ability to work independently with a high level of detail and timeliness in a small office environment.
• 10-key by touch.
• Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts.
• Proficiency on Entrata software is a plus.
