Equity Residential, an S&P 500 real estate company, is in search of a resourceful, efficient, detail-oriented, creative professional and team player to join our corporate Employee Communications & Knowledge Management team in our Chicago headquarters as a temporary - Graphic Design Specialist. This is a temporary assignment which would last about three months.  

The Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for creating and managing visually compelling communications projects from conceptualization to completion across all media. The primary audiences are Equity Residential employees and prospective employees. The Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for the production of materials and ensures projects are produced with uncompromising quality. Digital communications include Internet and intranet graphics, information architecture and dynamic email. Video communications include conceptualization and theme generation for programs and initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Collaborates with the Employee Communications & Knowledge Management Team, broader HR, and Marketing & Branding, and corporate business partners to concept scope, plan, and deliver communications.
Responsible for video production which includes directing, filming, production and editing.
Supports the design and quality control of Equity Residential’s Intranet, ERNIE.
Understands, adheres and develops Equity Residential’s brand standards and style guidelines.
Responsible for creating, preparing, and updating files for all types of projects (digital, video, print).
Formats raw data or text into new or existing layouts and templates
Revises designs with a high degree of accuracy
Provides production support including photo retouching, image scanning and manipulation and file collection

REQUIREMENTS  
One to three (1-3) years of progressive design experience is required.
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design is preferred.
Advanced knowledge of design principles including typography, composition, color, imagery, etc.
Understands how to translate creative briefs and communication objectives into sound design solutions.
Advanced knowledge of current graphic design software and equipment.
Thorough understanding of final file preparation.
Basic knowledge of web-programming.
Detail-oriented with a critical eye for proofreading and color accuracy.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly express creative ideas and concepts. Ability to function in high pressure, deadline-sensitive environments.
