Job Objectives: The Risk Analyst will be an integral member of the Risk Management team providing direct support including but not limited to the following:

Please note that this job position entails in-person office requirements for a minimum of 3 days per week: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, located at Essex's corporate offices in Irvine, Woodland Hills, San Mateo, and Bellevue.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Policy administration:

  • Update and maintain insurance tracker with expiration dates, coverage type, and broker information

  • File & upload documents such applications, binders, policies to SharePoint

  • Review invoices for accuracy before processing

  • Manage insurance tracker for structured finance portfolio and work with various real estate owners to assure compliance with Essex’s insurance requirements

  • Assist with policy renewals

Budget Management

  • Take lead of company’s insurance budget for entire asset portfolio

  • Work with brokers to assess the current market environment and to gather cost increase/decrease estimates

  • Provide cost and budget variance analysis

  • Allocate insurance premiums across all properties

Others:

  • Manage certificate requests from lenders and other vendors

  • Coordinate insurance company inspections with on-site teams

  • Manage property risk profile database

  • Manage structured finance insurance database

  • Manage multiple calendars and schedule and support meetings

  • Assist with presentation materials which require strong PowerPoint and Excel skills

  • Search, consolidate historical data, organize, and upload to SharePoint

  • New vendor set up

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • 2-3 years administrative  or  insurance experience preferred

  • Extremely strong organizational, project and time management skills; detail-oriented

  • Demonstrates excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills are required and should include Microsoft Word, Excel, Acrobat, SharePoint and PowerPoint. Power BI is a plus

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work, ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong team player and collaborator

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree

The salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $121,000.00 per year. New hires generally start between $85,000.00 - $103,000.00 per year. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience; internal equity; and other business and organizational needs.

This role is also eligible to participate in Essex’s discretionary Annual Bonus program that is commensurate with the level of the position.
