The Assistant Manager should have, as a minimum, demonstrable and verifiable skills associated with sales, clerical, supervisory, human relations, and bookkeeping. The Assistant Manager should be competent with a typewriter, calculator, and possess good telephone skills. 1.11 addition, basic computer knowledge will enhance job appreciation and is mandatory.
The Assistant Manager should have a high school diploma or equivalent and although some college is considered an asset, it is not mandatory. Recent work experience should include, as a minimum, eighteen months’ experience in managing sales, or hosting in the commercial or residential rental industry, or hotel and hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
- The Assistant Manager is primarily responsible for collecting all rents, posting of all daily activity to the computer and generating all computer reports including monthly closeout reports so that the manager may review. The Assistant Manager will assist with the coordination and facilitation of all leasing, administrative, vendor and contractor duties. In addition, the Assistant Manager will develop and improve in the skills and knowledge of resident relations, administration, leasing, clerical, sales and supervision. Compliance to all policies and procedures as outlined in the APG policy manuals is essential for complete and continued success.
- The Property Manager and Assistant Manager will communicate daily on any and all planned property operations. The Assistant Manager is expected to assume the duties of the Property Manager, or Leasing Consultant, in the absence of said employee and the responsibilities will include customer relations, curb appeal, marketing, and administration.
- The Assistant Manager will have working knowledge and actual performance of any and all leasing, clerical, and administrative duties. The Assistant Manager will perform credit checks, (with exception of leases generated by themselves), as well as review all rental applications prior to submitting them to the Property Manager for approval. The Assistant Manager will perform daily and periodic appearance inspections of the leasing office, common areas, laundry, models, clubhouse, and recreational facilities. Other responsibilities include verifying the accuracy of daily bank deposits, work order follow up, maintaining a working knowledge of market and property comparables, and soliciting renewals.
