Job Description
The Assistant Property Manager will provide hands-on support for the day-to-day administration and operation of a commercial real estate portfolio in Chicago. This role focuses on property accounting, tenant communication, and general property operations across approximately 5–7 commercial properties. The position is in-office, with full-time availability preferred, though there is flexibility for a reduced or adjusted schedule for the right candidate. The role suits someone who enjoys working independently, can step into an existing operation with minimal training, and thrives in an entrepreneurial, low-bureaucracy environment.

Work Environment
This is an in-office role based in a quiet, spacious office in downtown Chicago, in a building fully owned and managed by the organization. The property management group operates out of a smaller, dedicated section within the building, creating a close, community-oriented atmosphere. The immediate team consists of four people, including a leader, an operations professional, and an operations assistant, forming a tight-knit group that collaborates closely on day-to-day operations. The culture is light-hearted, personable, and non-bureaucratic, emphasizing independence, trust, and ownership rather than rigid corporate structures. The position primarily supports a commercial real estate portfolio of approximately 5–7 properties and uses tools such as Yardi and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) to manage property operations, accounting, and communication. Full-time in-office work is preferred, but there is flexibility on hours for the right candidate.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.00 - $36.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
