Join BNE Real Estate Group as a Full-Time Maintenance Associate in Chatham, NJ at our ultra-luxury property, The Ivy. Here, you'll perform the day to day maintenance operations as directed the Maintenance Manager and Property Manager.
If you are a motivated self-starter who is experienced with handling work orders, apartment turns (painting/cleaning), preventative maintenance and has a high-level of customer service, this is the role for you!
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm and rotated on-call (required)

Are you the Maintenance Associate we're looking for?
To thrive as a Maintenance Associate at BNE Real Estate Group, you'll need a blend of technical skills and personal attributes. A high school diploma and at least one year of experience in property management or maintenance fields are essential. Proficiency in computer programs, particularly Microsoft Office and Yardi, will streamline your daily tasks, including logging service requests and maintaining inventory lists for essential supplies. Strong verbal skills and a customer service orientation are crucial for effectively communicating with residents and building staff. You should be well-organized, possess excellent time management skills, and be able to work with minimal supervision.
Familiarity with property management regulations and laws will enhance your ability to ensure safety and compliance measures are met. Be prepared to work in diverse environments and manage various maintenance tasks, from prepping and painting apartments to conducting daily inspections and addressing any maintenance concerns that arise.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 years' experience in property management and or other relevant maintenance fields
- Proficient in computer programs, including Microsoft Office and Yardi
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Well organized with excellent time management skills
- Knowledge of regulations and laws regarding property management
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Work overtime hours as required to complete assignments/projects

Maintenance
- Responsible for the completion of assigned maintenance service requests in a timely manner
- Responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks in elevators, hallways and amenities, etc.
- Maintain inventory lists for cleaning and maintenance supplies
- Complete daily inspection of property during your walks and notify Managers of any issues
- Maintain the upkeep of grounds, amenities, building exteriors and leasing office, parking lots and other common areas
- Prep and paint apartments based on turn schedule
- Prepare make ready units, including removing trash, cleaning and painting
- Paint common areas
- Assist maintenance team with snow removal and landscaping
- Replace, repair or adjust locks, cylinders, latches, door checks, springs knobs, hinges and window blinds
- Replace, repair or adjust receptacles, plates, sockets, switches, and lighting fixtures
- Replace, repair or adjust speedy connectors, washers, faucets, cartridges, flush meter, other plumbing parts, toilet seats, toilet hardware, showerheads, shower rods and curtains
- Install smoke alarms and any other fire safety devices
- Grout and replace wall tiles
- Clear local waste line and drain stoppages
- Clean filters for HVAC
- Check and report leaks, damage, debris and security issues
- Report any maintenance concerns for repairs on available apartments, models, amenity spaces, and/or common areas to the Maintenance Manager/Property Manager
- Assist with the preventative maintenance program
- Assist management with other projects, as requested and required
- Maintain excellent customer service with the residents and building staff
- If required, participate in the emergency on-call program
