The Property Manager promotes a culture of safety, hospitality, service, honor, and respect among our homeless guests, our staff, and volunteers, for the purpose of furthering the vision and mission of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. The property manager works closely with all Saint Vincent de Paul staff to ensure that the tenants are being given reasonable accommodations to promote success in housing while maintaining the conditions of the lease/program agreement. The property manager will communicate constructively and collaboratively with Montgomery Counties Homeless Solutions policy board/front door to obtain referrals, interview prospective candidates to ensure that they meet housing qualification and advocate for lateral housing moves when deemed necessary by the team to ensure that tenant do not fall back into homelessness.
Essential functions
Working with an interdisciplinary team to be supportive and compassionate, strategic, clinical, and to meet the unique needs of those we serve
Rent tracking and collection
Interface with those who provide services within the homeless provider, mental health, and alcohol and drug facilities to maintain relationships and an understanding of resources.
Working with Montgomery Counties Front door, shelters, and street out reach workers with PATH to screen and facilitate appropriate referrals into housing.
Competition and posting cure notices, following up on notices, working collaboratively with case management, outside resources, and the resident in meeting the expectations of the cure notice
Attending all lease signing
Assisting with unit inspections and collaborating with residents and staff to promote a safe clean environment
Processing evictions which include posting and possible work with an attorney and the courts
Ensuring that Facility Inspections, Fire Drills, and Tornado Drills are done in accordance with the policy.
Regularly monitoring facility with an eye to maintenance and ensuring that residents are honoring the program agreement and lease.
Enforcing the conditions of the lease and keeping tenants updated of any changes
Maintaining good relations with our neighbors by monitoring our guests’ interactions with the surrounding community, and ensuring that our facility and property in no way impacts them adversely
Participation in meetings and committee work will be assigned as needed
In a timely manner identify maintenance issues and ensure that maintenance requests are turned into Turner Property Management and monitored for completion.
Stay up to date on landlord tenant responsibilities and rights and ensure that we are compliant with all regulations
QualificationsPhysical demands
Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds for short distances
Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to ascend/descend stairs frequently

Required education and experience
Understanding of Mental Illness, Substance Use Disorders, and working with Diverse Populations
Demonstrated ability to work with Homeless Individuals and Families
1-3 years’ experience working with homeless individuals and families or mentally ill or chemically depen populations
Preferred education and experience
Associate or bachelor’s degree in management, social service administration or direct service
3 years demonstrated experience in property management and working with diverse populations
Additional eligibility requirements
Have dependable means of transportation
Maintain Driver’s License
Must be able to pass drug screen and background check
