The Leasing Consultant is responsible for leasing apartments, providing exceptional customer service to prospective and current residents, and supporting the day-to-day operations of a multifamily community. This role serves as the first point of contact for prospects and residents and plays a key role in achieving occupancy, revenue, and resident satisfaction goals.
Greet prospective residents and conduct property and apartment tours.
Present community features, floor plans, pricing, and lease terms effectively.
Convert prospect traffic into leases through follow-up and sales techniques.
Process rental applications and prepare lease documentation.
Execute lease renewals and support resident retention efforts.
Maintain accurate prospect, leasing, and resident records.
Provide professional and responsive customer service to prospects and residents.
Address resident questions, concerns, and service requests promptly and courteously.
Assist with move-in and move-out processes, including inspections and documentation.
Enforce community rules and policies consistently and professionally.
Support resident events and community-building activities.
Enter and update leasing and resident data in property management software (e.g., Yardi, RealPage, OneSite).
Collect rents, fees, and deposits in accordance with company procedures.
Prepare leasing, traffic, and occupancy reports as requested.
Assist the Property Manager with administrative tasks and daily office operations.
Maintain confidentiality of resident and company information.
High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of leasing, sales, or customer service experience, preferably in multifamily housing.
Strong sales, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to build rapport and close leases.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Proficient with property management software and standard office technology.
Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and basic landlord-tenant regulations.
Ability to walk the community and conduct property tours regularly.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Weekend and evening availability required based on leasing needs.
