Greystar and Blake Griggs Properties, Inc (“BGP”) are seeking a creative and ambitious Programming + Events Manager for a new apartment community The Waymark, in Walnut Creek, CA. Conveniently located off the Walnut Creek Bart Station, The Waymark is on the cutting edge of multifamily developments in the Walnut Creek area boasting over 20,000 square feet of amenity space including a three-level gym, roof deck, pool deck, athleisure lounges, children’s playroom, and multiple private event spaces. Further distinguishing the community, The Waymark is introducing the brand-new Rails to Trails Explorers Club – a social membership club that connects residents and area patrons with events, activities and social programs designed to showcase adventure, exploration, creativity, and lifelong learning in the greater Walnut Creek region.

As Programming + Events Manager, you will ideate, execute, and oversee all event programming for the Rails to Trails Explorers Club (RTEC) and its nearly 500 member residents across 360 apartments who will call this beautiful community home. You will serve as an ambassador for The Waymark community, be a friendly face of The Waymark property and a key community liaison between the residents, the property management team (Greystar), and BGP.

This position will be instrumental in creating a sense of belonging for Waymark residents, working increase resident retention, thoughtfully activate indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, and support the overall growth of BGP. Responsibilities of this role can increase alongside the success of RTEC, including expansion to additional BGP properties.

This position is responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of an activities program designed to meet the social and physical needs of community residents. Responsibilities include the planning, assigning and managing the development of recreational, educational, cultural and other programs geared to the needs of the specific community(ies). Additional responsibilities include selecting 3rd party vendors and ensuring the scheduling of various activities programs and continuously evaluating the effectiveness processes, procedures and programs and recommends changes as required.


  • Manage a team of Resident Activities employees who are responsible for coordinating activities and programs for residents at community sites. 
  • Research, evaluate, develop and ensure the implementation of various resident activity programs for specific community property sites that are specifically tailored for the needs of the residents. 
  • Establish and manage relationship with relevant 3rd party vendors who may be providing service to the communities; Recruits, researches, and approves schedules and supervises programs leaders, general contractor entertainers, volunteers, other professionals and vendors. 
  • May be directly responsible for the scheduling of various events, activities, etc as well as all facets and details relevant to the events. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of any related operating processes, procedures, etc, makes recommendations for modifications and implements any changes accordingly. 
  • Engage and motivate residents resulting in.
