In this position, you will be part of fixed asset accounting team.

Responsibilities:
- Submit complete and accurate recurring and monthly Journal Entries
- Prepare journal entries as they relate to the month end close (reclassifications from Fixed Assets to Expense, depreciation entries, write-off of fully depreciated assets and sold assets, etc)
- Have a solid understanding of sub ledger data and its impact to the financial statements
- Reconcile and complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including ensuring that outstanding items are cleared in a timely manner
- Perform reconciliation of fixed asset subsidiary ledger balance with summary-level account in the general ledger
- Research, analyze and provide meaningful and accurate information and report as required
- Prepare quarterly reports such as Capital Rollforward
- Review of Import transfers between Work in Process to the Fixed asset module
- Review of general ledger for possible reclassifications from OpEx to CapEx and vice versa
- Review the accuracy and completeness of monthly depreciation postings
- Assist with fielding and responding to questions directed to the Fixed Asset team (compliance with Capital Expenditure policy) through Service Now ticketing system
- Interacts with Accounts Payable, Community Managers, Property Accounting, and Construction accounting group on a regular basis
- Demonstrates a professional demeanor and a motivated strong work ethic
- Work with Supervisor/Manager to provide variance explanations and account information as required
- Assist with internal and external audit requests as needed
- Assist with other ad hoc requests and reports as needed

Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in accounting or similar field from an accredited college or university
- Detail oriented individual who will be responsible for the research and investigation of transactional level detail
- Must demonstrate critical thinking and have the ability to analyze transactional and financial statement level data
- Deadline driven individual
- Fixed Asset accounting experience or relevant real estate experience preferred (not required)
- Strong communication and analytical skill
- Proficient in Excel (including v-lookups, h-lookups, pivot tables, sumif/s)
- Works well independently as well as with others
- Yardi Voyager experience preferred (not required)
