JOB PROFILE SUMMARY:
The benefits analyst will be responsible for analyzing and effectively administering Essex’s benefits and wellness programs. This person will interact with new employees monitoring new hire enrollments and conducting benefits new hire orientations. They’ll work cross functionally with the HRIS team and compensation team to ensure support of programs and current vendors. The benefits analyst will be able to think critically to solve complex benefits plan issues and be a thought partner with the Total Rewards Manager.  This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in benefits experience and interest in growing their career in compensation and total rewards. 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  
Benefits administration including monitoring new hire enrollments and conducting new hire orientation.
Benefits billing reconciliation and administration
Coordinate administration of wellness platform and related functions (health challenges, Gym Memberships, etc.).
Leave of absence benefits billing
Benefits team support including HRIS issues resolution and auditing, customer service with associates and vendors.
Administers commuter programs including Wage Works Transit/Parking and San Mateo Corporate Caltrain GoPass Administration.
Partner and collaborate with the Benefits Manager to analyze current benefits programs by understanding benefit trends, benchmarking and program data analytics to make recommended improvements to plan design
Intranet (Buzz) updating.
Other benefits duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelors Degree; Human Resources or related field preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office
3-5 years working experience with Excel
Strong data analysis skills (e.g. data manipulation, building models, etc.)
Familiar with HRIS systems and data (Workday knowledge a plus)
Detail orientated
Problem solving skills
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadliness
Professional image
Ability to read and write English and understand spoken English
