Leasing Agent

The position reports directly to the Property Manager. The position is full-time, non-exempt. The position works both Saturday and Sunday with two consecutive days off during the week. This position is primarily responsible for the leasing of apartments. Secondary responsibilities include completing administrative and managerial tasks as assigned. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Greet prospective residents and provide information on apartment inquiries as well as provide detailed telephone presentations to potential residents with the purpose of setting an appointment to show the community 
  • Provides tours of apartment and community to potential residents for purpose of leasing apartments 
  • Keep accurate records of both phone and walk-in traffic as well as enter all traffic in daily 
  • Discuss with potential residents, the advantages of leasing at the property 
  • Conducts comparative surveys as requested to ensure competitive market pricing 
  • Prequalifies potential residents for application purposes 
  • Prepares leases for qualified potential residents, process applications, submit for review, follow up with each prospect 
  • Complete leasing/administrative paperwork 
  • Collect all rental applications/fees, ensure their completeness and accuracy 
  • Assist residents with questions/issues 
  • Conduct new resident orientation, pre-occupancy unit inspections 
  • Work with Property Manager on all resident improvements, move-ins and move-outs 
  • Achieve/maintain the target leasing goals established for the property 
  • Perform regular on-site inspections of properties and grounds 
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and marketing materials 
  • Completes all other projects or requests as directed by Supervisor

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Basic computer skills, typing and writing ability for correspondence, memos, etc.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills 
  • Exceptional customer service 
  • Excellent at both phone and in-person leasing 
  • Extreme attention to detail 
  • Strong work ethic 
  • Self-motivated and hard-working 
  • High-energy and commitment to high performance in a busy, multi-task work environment 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma. GED or equivalent work experience preferred 
  • Minimum 2 years of leasing, customer service, hospitality or multi-family preferred
