Accountant II (Benefits & Payroll) San Diego Corporate Office

The  Accountant II (Benefits & Payroll) is responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting, utilizing proper accounting techniques and principles. Ensures that work performed in in accordance with ConAm’s standards and procedures. This is a Full-Time | hourly position at $29.00 per hour | Non-Exempt and is eligible for full Benefits after a grace period.

Why you would be a good fit: 

  • At least 2 years relevant accounting experience
  • Experience with the following
    • Maintaining general Ledgers
    • Financial reporting reviews and owner package preparation
    • Reconciling bank statements and balance sheets
  • Exceptional organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills and multitasking abilities desired.
  • UltiPro experience a plus
  • Experience with the following Microsoft programs:
    • MS. Word
    • MS. Excel
    • MS. Outlook

Additional Position Requirements:

Benefits/Accounting:

  • Reconcile all benefit accounts by the 15th of the month
  • Submit all billing adjustments to Benefit Administrator
  • Prepare Executive summary of the benefits accounting
    Follow procedures and maintain updates
  • Meet regularly with Accounting Supervisor to review the status of the benefit’s general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Prepare weekly transfer for JAA Claims and wire for Non-JAA Claims to Banking
  • Prepare weekly claims report for Benefit Manager’s review and distribution to upper management
  • Prepare transfer form and journal entry for Flex transfer to Banking
  • Prepare monthly Census report
  • Add deduction registers to Census report to prepare for the Insurance Booking
  • Prepare Insurance Booking spreadsheet and journal entry
  • Update Insurance recovery spreadsheet and process journal entries
  • Update Stop Loss tab on the Claims report monthly
  • Code LOA checks and give to Banking, enter journal entries and update tracking spreadsheet
  • Code Cobra checks and give to Banking, enter journal entry
  • Code checks for misc reimbursements (Stop Loss, Rx, etc.) and give to Banking and process journal entries
  • Process monthly journal entry for ConAm Admin fees
  • Prepare EBAM payment calculation and check request and submit to A/P Processor/Corporate
  • Prepare monthly housing report in accordance with accounting deadlines

Payroll: 

  • Process corporate new hires accurately and timely into the payroll systems.
  • Run daily Interface from HR to Pro Business
  • Assist with timely and accurate processing of payroll related changes.
  • Direct Deposit
  • Rate, address, withholding changes
  • Garnishments
  • Department transfers
  • Bonuses
  • Assist with accurate and timely processing of the corporate payroll.
  • Assist with processing of final checks, in accordance with the various state requirement and insuring proper backup is received.
  • Assist with responding to inquiries from association and managers regarding their pay, deduction pay history etc.
