Recertification Specialist

Chicago, IL


Responsibilities

  • Complete recertification's for ACC and Non-ACC units in a timely fashion
  • Interview residents to complete interims, recertification's, etc
  • Process 3rd party verifications
  • Compose and distribute correspondence to residents
  • Conduct screening for prospective residents
  • Answer all leasing questions
  • Update wait-list
  • Maintain resident files
  • Ensures compliance with all HUD, IHDA, Tax Credit and/or other regulatory requirements related to the property’s funding sources
  • Other administrative duties as assigned
  • Maintains re-certification schedule.  
  • Processes notices to residents 120 days prior to anniversary move-in date. 
  • Completes interviews with residents, completing re-certification forms completely and accurately. 
  • Prepare lease for resident and obtain the signature on a lease and all backup documentation.

Qualifications

  • Tax Credit Specialist Certification
  • Public Housing Rent Calculation Specialist (RIM)
  • Preferred valid IL Leasing License 
  • Must possess strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle high call volume from current and prospective residents
  • Must have knowledge of HUD/Public Housing/Tax Credit policies and procedures. 
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. 
  • Must be proficient in Tax Credit rules and regulations.
  • Must have intermediate or better computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise, thorough, meaningful and grammatically correct written reports, letters, memos and other written documents. 
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions and learn rapidly office rules and procedures.
