Senior Systems Engineer

Edward Rose & Sons has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer. The ideal candidate will provide project planning, engineering design, implementation and support for our rapidly expanding company, and the IT infrastructure systems and software.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• System Engineering/Project management experience taking projects from initial concept through planning and implementation.
• Install, configure and maintain varied applications on Windows and Linux server systems.
• Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of IT infrastructure systems that support company functions and growth.
• Monitor and facilitate the technical development of current and new production projects.
• Ensure that system requirements and specifications are consistent with operational deployment environments.
• Manage and document system configurations.
• Recommend innovative solutions for technical and operational problems.
• Utilize enterprise tools to manage, monitor and secure enterprise environments.
• Manage and troubleshoot OS and applications using OS-based, resource kit, and 3rd-party tools
• Manage storage, clustering, backup and other enterprise technology to maintain availability and recoverability of systems.

Key Competencies:

• Strong proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common network services such as DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrates strong working knowledge of Unified Communications, Network (LAN/WAN), Telephony, and Mobile systems.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytic and research skills.
• Efficiently teaches and provides guidance to System Engineering team members.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with a team.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and quickly resolve issues.

Education and Experience:

• BS degree in Technology related field or a minimum of 7+ years of related work experience.
• Experience with Scripting/Development (.Net, PowerShell, VBScript, etc.).
• Experience working with 64-bit x86 based hardware and 64-bit operating systems.
• Manage and troubleshoot OS and applications using OS-based, resource kit, and 3rd-party tools.
• 7+ years’ experience performing Server Systems design, implementation, and administration.
• 7+ years’ experience analyzing system failures to minimize outages and interruptions.
• 7+ years’ experience working with server class hardware from a major OEM (Dell, HP, etc.).
• 7+ years’ experience working with server operating systems (Windows and/or Linux).
• 7+ years’ experience implementing solutions utilizing Microsoft core technologies such as Active Directory, Exchange, Windows Clustering, IIS, SQL Server, SharePoint, Systems Center Operations Manager, etc.
