Asset Management Analyst

Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1-2 years of real estate experience and strong analytical skills. The Asset Management Analyst will primarily focus on supporting the team develop strategies for each asset and underwrite a variety of projects types, gathering and analyzing data, and generating reports.

Responsibilities include:  
Assist in underwriting revenue generating projects
Assist in the operation and execution of existing projects in all regions (Southern/Northern California & Pacific Northwest) of the portfolio
Analyze performance of ongoing renovations/value-add projects
Create and fund capital budgets for new and existing revenue generating projects
Interact with internal groups: operations, accounting, project management, marketing, and revenue management
Collect and update market data used in asset plans
Support the team in analyzing and updating dashboards, redevelopment reports, vacancy reports, and other ad hoc reports

Qualifications:
BS/BA with emphasis on real estate, finance, accounting and/or economics
1-2 years of direct real estate and analytical experience preferred
Strong analytical and Excel skills required
Strong oral and written communication skills
A self-starter with eagerness to learn
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required REPORTS TO

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

Asset Management Group (“AMG”) serves to maximize the value of Essex’s portfolio by deploying capital to drive rent growth and internally increase the NOI of the existing portfolio. AMG executes both revenue generating and non-revenue generating investments for purposes of both value preservation and value creation within the existing portfolio. The department opportunistically seeks investments and remains flexible in its ability to scale projects in response to changing and dynamic market conditions.
