Digital Marketing Specialist

We are currently seeking a creative, organized, and analytical Digital Marketing Specialist to join our Digital Marketing team in our Chicago office. Under the direction of the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for managing the online customer experience and reputation for Equity Residential and our 300 apartment communities. Working with key stakeholders both within our corporate office as well as on-site, this role will be accountable for drafting and posting appropriate review responses, generating social media posts, organizing social media content calendar, supporting search engine marketing, and engaging with customers online in a timely manner. This role will also be responsible for changes in online reputation, social media, and paid search strategy, supported by detailed tracking, reporting, and analysis.
Each day will be unique, requiring an ability to prioritize, take initiative, and employ a diverse set of skills. Expect to be challenged with a variety of assignments, from digital marketing support to strategic analysis to project-based work. WHAT YOU’LL DO
Online Reputation and Resident Relations Execution (60%)
- Collaborate with local teams to respond to resident reviews and social comments across sites (ie/ Google, Yelp, and Facebook).
- Listen for and identify brand and property related online content and activity.
- Effectively manage the process of categorizing, prioritizing and responding to all reviews and comments.
- Measure, report on, and perform detailed analysis of online reputation management success and process.
- Manage online resident relations inquiries daily.
- Facilitate online reputation crisis escalation and response as needed.
- Review resident testimonials for website monthly.
- Research and identify opportunities for managing corporate reputation online.
- Assist in definition, planning and execution of our overall social media strategy, including:
- Identify opportunities for using social media to improve our customer experience.
- Participate in training field employees on social media.
- Organize calendar and strategy for centralized Facebook and Instagram posts to be approved and posted to property accounts.
- Include hyper-local content research by market and neighborhood.
- Monitor Facebook and Instagram posts created by property teams for quality.
- Mentor and train communities on an ongoing basis on social media guidelines.
- Manage Equity corporate social accounts with guidance and approvals.
- Coordinate with in-house creative team for creative assets where needed.
- Monitor resident posts within internal resident portal.
- Assist in the creation of website and paid search written copy.
- Aid in maintaining and monitoring keyword bids.
- Perform keyword research.
- Bachelor’s degree with 1 - 3 years of digital marketing experience, demonstrating involvement in social media and online reputation projects and initiatives.
- Ability to effectively and objectively communicate and work with internal and external customers, as well as strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Must be comfortable working autonomously and multi-tasking in a fast paced environment with changing deadlines.
- Familiarity and previous experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
