We are currently searching for a Director of Talent Acquisition to join our Human Resources team.
The Role
The Director of Talent Acquisition leads all recruiting strategies and processes for AvalonBay’s national portfolio of properties and regional offices. Based at our corporate headquarters office in Arlington, VA, this highly visible role drives the strategic direction, coordinates and conducts executive search for organization, and manages the day-to-day service delivery of the Talent Acquisition Team. This position focuses on building a creative pipeline and sourcing strategies that support the staffing needs of the organization.
In this role you will:
- Own the company’s Talent Acquisition strategy, leading a team of 8 recruitment professionals and managing executive-level and Information Technology searches.
- Bring innovation and creativity as a key leader in all areas that impact talent with a focus on delivering operational efficiencies, improving the hiring experience and enhancing the employee value proposition.
- Lead the development and implementation of Talent Acquisition goals, objectives, budgets and business plans.
- Manage the selection of all Talent Acquisition tools and resources.
- Ensure operational excellence of the overall Talent Acquisition organization and ensure goals and key metrics are met. You will also report regularly on market and employment trends, as well as participate in workforce planning.
- Develop competitive college and graduate-level recruitment strategies andexecute annual internship programs.
- Assist the organization in achieving its organizational diversity and inclusion goals.
- Assist in the identification, selection, hiring, and management of executive search vendors.
- Manage employer branding, posting optimization, and innovative candidate sourcing strategies
- Coach, mentor, and develop a team of recruiters, including helping them create successful search strategies to drive individual and team results. Ensure recruiters have necessary tools, resources, and training to be successful.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations by adhering to practices related to hiring.
You Have...
Our ideal candidate will be self-directed, results-focused, and have strong team management and development skills. We are looking for someone who is a great communicator, collaborative leader and has the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. You must have proven record of building and managing a team, as well as successful placement of senior-level candidates.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of strategic recruiting experience at all organizational levels preferably with specific experience in the area of real estate, hospitality or retail. Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years’ experience managing and conducting executive searches.
- A keen understanding and experience with IT searches.
- Knowledge of evolving recruiting technology.
