Equity Residential (EQR), an S&P 500 real estate company headquartered in downtown Chicago, is in search of a detail-oriented, resourceful, team-focused, flexible, and efficient office professional to join our Treasury and Internal Audit teams as a Corporate Finance Administrative Assistant. Under the supervision of the 1st VP Treasurer and SVP Internal Audit, the Corporate Finance Administrative Assistant is responsible for the administrative functions of the Treasury, Internal Audit, and Tax departments. This includes (but is not limited to): assisting with Board and Audit Committee communications using PowerPoint, invoice processing, Treasury administrative support, and other general team support (i.e. managing calendars, travel and expenses, organizing events). Note: the Corporate Finance Administrator is a part-time benefits-eligible position, scheduled approximately 30 hours per week.
- Experienced professional. To help you quickly transition into this position, you’ve got a couple years of previous experience under your belt in office management and/or administrative professional work, preferably in the real estate industry.

You are proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel), the Google suite, and also enjoy learning new tools, technology, and/or software to help you most effectively get the job done.
- Assist the 1st VP Treasurer and Treasury team with various functional activities, presentations, and project related work.
- Assist SVP Internal Audit with Board & Audit Committee communications, requiring extensive PowerPoint packages with a keen attention to detail and quick turnaround.
- Provide administrative support for the Treasury, Internal Audit, and Tax teams, including activities such as: coordinating meetings, arranging travel, ordering supplies, and processing accounts payable.
- Support the Internal Audit department through accurate preparation of the monthly audit grid.
- Type and/or compose general correspondence, memos, and letters, as requested.
- Create and maintain various spreadsheets and reports, as required.
- Plan and coordinate periodic department meetings.
- Provide backup coverage for Executive Administrative Assistant to CEO and CFO.
- Foster teamwork by maintaining cooperative relationships with internal and external partners, including contributing to a positive work environment, keeping your supervisor(s) updated on a consistent basis as to the status of projects and tasks, and accepting and providing constructive feedback.
- Perform other duties and participate in special projects, as needed.
- Must have strong organizational skills with an ability to work independently, while meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality of work product.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to speak and write in a clear and articulate manner.
- Detail oriented and well-organized, with an ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize various responsibilities.

- Availability to work 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Daily start and end times to be negotiated between selected candidate and supervisor(s).
- High school diploma and 3+ years of professional office or administrative experience; preferably in a real estate environment.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel), as well as Google Apps for Business (Docs, Sheets, and Slides).
