Director of Safety

The Director of Insurance and Safety provides leadership and coordination of claims and safety activities and programs to protect the Company and ensure safe working conditions.
Education
College degree in insurance, business, or related field, and/or equivalent experience is highly preferred.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to create and make presentations to board members, senior managers, and staff, and to design and teach proper safety measures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs in order to complete required reports.
- Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions, and calculate percents in order to complete financial records, budgets, and other fiscal reporting information.
- Demonstrated management and supervisory skills sufficient to lead, direct, evaluate, and mentor subordinate and peer employee staff.
- Employment history that demonstrates the application and usage of a claims or safety background sufficient to implement processes, policies, and procedures, design company-wide safety programs and initiatives, and manage insurable litigated claims.
