The Role

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for coordinating our weekly, multi-state, employer payroll process, ensuring that all payroll and tax submission deadlines are met. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Implements and performs audit procedures to ensure accuracy of all payroll processes
  • Reviews and supervises off-cycle payroll activities to ensure timeliness and accuracy
  • Ensures that timely and accurate executive compensation payroll processes, including bonus and stock grant processing, is performed as required
  • Ensures company compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local wage regulations in all states that the company employs associates
  • Resolves payroll team employee relation issues, provides developmental support to subordinates via coaching, counseling, and training, identifies succession candidates, and designs career development plans as appropriate
  • Coordinates payroll services with internal customers
  • Maintains knowledge of changes to the payroll processing systems, as well as changes in wage and tax laws for all states in company portfolio
  • Manages third party tax vendors and provides support for required tax filings
  • Oversees preparation and distribution of annual W-2 forms
  • Coordinates and ensures compliance of garnishment process

You Have...

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred OR equivalent payroll leadership experience
  • At least 5 years in a payroll leadership position
  • PeopleSoft and Kronos working knowledge preferred
  • Must have strong communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver group presentations on function-related subject matter
  • Must be immensely detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multitask while meeting all necessary deadlines
