We are hiring an Administrative Assistant for our Construction Group in New York City. We are looking for professional, energetic, enthusiastic, detailed oriented individuals to join our Team.

The Role
This position requires a highly motivated and skilled professional to perform a wide range of high level administrative and project support tasks.
Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, your main priorities will be to act as a gatekeeper and provide administrative support to our Construction and Redevelopment team. This includes preparing contracts and change orders, maintaining paper and electronic files, vendor management, payment processing, and planning meetings and events.
You Have...
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 years Administrative experience in the construction or related industry. A high school diploma or GED Equivalent is required (bachelor’s degree is preferred).
- We are seeking a dynamic professional with an outgoing personality, positive attitude, and polished negotiation and telephone skills.
- Strong and open communication skills are required (verbal and written); position requires ability to build relationships with subcontractors and among AvalonBay departments (Resident Services, Development, and Construction).
- This position will require the ability to work on multiple projects throughout the Metro Area and adaptability to working in both the corporate office and construction field offices.
- Strong MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook) proficiency; prior Oracle Primavera Unifier and Timberline experience preferred. Ability to quickly learn new systems is strongly desired.
- This person will be a self-starter, highly organized, have attention to detail, and will be effective at prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
