Staff Accountant - MAG

JOB SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant assists in recording general ledger transactions related to the daily operations of Multifamily Ancillary Group (MAG) and its divisions; Revenue Share, CUBS and iMAG. Assists in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Prepares and submits daily, weekly and monthly general ledger journal transaction entries in Yardi.

Provides support for timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statement reports.

Processes Accounts Payable for CUBS reimbursements to the properties, revenue share distribution to the properties, monthly and quarterly iMAG administrative and marketing fees, and MAG corporate expenses.

Prepares invoices for CUBS customers. 

Processes receipts received for iMAG and Revenue share business for deposit and posting in the Accounts Receivable system and general ledgers.

Posts daily residents receipts.

Reviews monthly CUBS property reimbursement reports for accuracy.

Prepares monthly revenue accrual schedules.

Reconciles operating and trust bank accounts for MAG and its divisions as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, organized, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Independent self-starter; dependable team player.

Ability to read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Strong computer skills. Excel required; Yardi preferred.

Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet required deadlines. 

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATION:

Must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

Must maintain an acceptable driving record.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent accounting course work.

Two to five years of Accounting experience in real estate property management preferred.
