How You Will Contribute

The Make-Ready Technician is responsible for ensuring that all vacated apartments are thoroughly restored to “market ready” status in a timely manner. They pay special attention to detail as this will become a future resident’s new home.

Things You Will Do

  • Inspect vacated apartments and complete make-ready checklist
  • Inform Service Supervisor and Community Manager of needed services and repairs
  • Routinely perform the following duties in order to restore apartment to “market ready” status:
    • Check all lights and replace as necessary
    • Replace or repair windows, latches, screens, hinges, sliding glass doors, shelves, baseboards, mirrors
    • Check appliances and inform Service Supervisor of problems
    • Assist in changing or removing appliances from apartment
    • Make keys
    • Check faucets and sink plugs and repair/replace as necessary
    • Assist with painting duties
    • Repair or replace mini-blinds, ceiling fans, etc.
    • Repair plaster holes in walls
    • Inspect bathroom tiles, perform minor repairs/replacements
    • Change A/C filters
  • Lend assistance during “trash-out,” move heavy/bulky items to dumpster
  • Assist in keeping grounds clean at all times
  • Assist maintenance when requested
  • Deliver notices to all apartments
  • Report supply needs to Service Supervisor or Community Manager
  • Think safety first and ensure that unsafe conditions are corrected promptly
  • Communicate effectively with residents, future residents, visitors, vendors and team members while presenting a positive, professional image
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Service Supervisor or Community Manager

Things You Will Need

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • General knowledge of all things pertaining to property maintenance
  • Skill in the safe use and maintenance of power tools
  • Willingness to work a flexible work week including weekends and on-call hours
  • Able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Knowledgeable of pertinent laws including EPA and OSHA regulations
  • Must be able to walk the property which includes climbing stairs
  • Able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs, push, pull, reach, carry supplies and stand for extended periods of time
