Syndication Manager

Sage currently seeks an experienced Syndication Manager to be based at our Corporate Headquarters in Irvine. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Compliance this position will support the syndication process by ensuring compliance with affordable housing programs at properties throughout our national portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Travel to various properties throughout national portfolio and ensure compliance with Affordable Housing programs, including Project Based Section 8 and Tax Credit/ LIHTC
  • Work with on-site staff to complete required paperwork and conduct training of all 30 days prior to the beginning of the syndication
  • Overseeing the verification of existing and new households meeting appropriate income restrictions
  • Review and approve all move-in files to ensure income and program requirements are met
  • Review and approve first year re-certifications to make sure they are completed within the required timeframe
  • Review all state specific forms to ensure that they are up to date prior to starting resident interviews
  • Assist in completing files. Interviewing residents, sending and collection of verification documents, completing calculations and entering certifications in Yardi
  • Monitor preparation and submission of files to lenders/investors for review and following-up on any required corrections. Preparing responses and submitting required corrections
  • Provide training as needed to ensure compliance with State specific requirements and to ensure on-site staff are following Sage Policies and Procedures
  • Provide regular updates on progress to Regional Manager, Director of Operations and Vice President.
  • Complete reports required by lenders, investors and owners are consistently submitted timely

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 plus years’ in affordable housing, compliance experience in Project Based Section 8, USADA Rural Development and/or Tax Credit
  • Able to travel 50% to 75% of the time
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyager preferred
  • Able to work patiently and professionally with residents while providing exceptional customer service
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Compute rates and calculate percentages
  • Ability to handle pressure due to complexity and time sensitivity
    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Required Certifications; Assisted Housing Manager (AHM), Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO), Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) and Tax Credit Specialist (TCS). Additional Industry certifications will be considered.
