ABOUT THE POSITION: FULL TIME MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Western Seniors Housing is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the full time Maintenance Technician position at our 156 unit community for adults 55 and better in Fountain Valley, CA.
This position requires you to perform and/or assist with all maintenance duties associated with apartment communities and maintenance. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Strong communication of project and task status throughout the day, and ability to take constructive direction from supervisor and other team members. Complete and document work orders in computer; does include basic general maintenance repairs (i.e. plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, carpet cleaning, replacement/repair of refrigerators, dishwashers, stoves, washers and hot water heaters). Perform preventive maintenance, conduct monthly safety evaluations and scheduled property inspections: such as replacement of filters and smoke detector batteries & alarms, and security light replacement. Clean common areas when necessary. Ability to determine priorities, show initiative, punctuality, and strong work ethic are very important. Assist with purchasing maintenance supplies and assist supervisor with scheduling and communicating with vendors and contractors. Other projects and tasks as assigned.

The Jasmine is a 156 unit, income restricted, senior apartment community located in the city of Fountain Valley, CA. This community is for adults ages 55 and better.
Our communities offer resident programs with emphasis on creative, healthy aging through arts, wellness and lifelong learning.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are seeking a candidate with previous apartment maintenance experience and extensive experience and knowledge in plumbing, electrical and other skills pertaining to building maintenance. The perfect candidate would also have experience with senior living environments. Other skills and qualifications that are favorable include having experience with Yardi property management software as well as experience with computers, especially Microsoft Office, and the ability to speak another language.

Education
High School Diploma or (GED); with at least (3) three years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have current Drivers License and reliable transportation as this position may require some driving.
